Applications in Dental Technology
These highly specialized products are vacuum-hardened and then deep-frozen. After heat treatment, depending on the material used, a mostly undesirable unstable phase—residual austenite—remains in the workpiece. The transformation of this phase through subsequent deep-freezing of the component serves to achieve the desired material properties and prevent microstructural changes during use.
